Does different "Capture mode" affect the streaming in any way?

And by modes I refer to "Game Capture" "Window Capture" "Game Capture" and so on.

Lets say I Stream a game of Smite, would the FPS or anything in performance way be different in the different modes ?

In Windows Vista and 7, Monitor Capture is the worst mode to use. In Windows 8, Monitor Capture is fine. Window Capture with Aero disabled is bad. Window Capture with Aero enabled and Game Capture are both good.

I thought if you were Win7 and you used Window Capture you had to Disable Aero?

No, Aero should never be disabled for sindow capture, unless it's a problematic application where it bypasses the DWM (the Desktop Window Manager, which Aero renders to). For monitor capture in Windows Vista/7, you want to disable Aero, but then again like Sapiens said, you should never use monitor capture in Vista/7 unless you absolutely need to.

Ahh I was mixing up Window / Monitor capture.

So is there any other way to show the Desktop outside of Monitor Capture?

Besides using a capture card, no. Or well, there is no more efficient way of showing the monitor. It's simply a limitation of how Windows works, they added an alternative for this in Windows 8 where you can just use a desktop duplicator, which is almost as fast as game capture.
