I'm seeing an issue where, as I'm recording, the audio monitor for my mic is displaying one level but when listening to the audio in the recorded file the level is increased by about 5db. The image below shows what I mean:
I had initially thought this was down to some gain filter I'd applied so did a second test without any filtering at all, just raw audio from the mic, and in that instance the opposite occurred - the monitor during recording was slightly louder than the recorded output:
It's not an issue necessarily as I can account for the difference during the recording process but I'm curious to know what the cause could be as I would have thought the levels would be identical otherwise I'm not really able to trust what the monitor is telling me as I'm recording.
