Question / Help Dark Purple Preview Screen

Last time I streamed, everything was working fine. This week I try and keep getting this Dark Purple Preview screen that won't let me stream anything, and as a matter of fact, it seems to be unable to properly take a screenshot.

The Roxio Game Capture Pro HD does work, but for some reason the screenshot I took shows it as purple. In OBS and Xsplit, the preview screen just shows up as the dark purple box.

This is driving me nuts, and I really need to resolve it. I've seen a lot of threads but NO solutions.

The only significant change to my machine was possibly a Windows 8 update in the last week or so, but nothing else has really changed. I have also uploaded my most recent log.

Monitor Capture, doesn't work either. I've tried Cam capture and while it works for my web cam it doesn't work with the Roxio card.

Any help solving this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

This is caused by a hardware accelerated overlay. You'll need to disable HW acceleration or have another app "use up" the overlay.

Hate to be difficult, but could you elaborate on this a bit more? I have an AMD Radeon HD 6800 video card.

I disabled acceleration via Internet Options in Explorer and have no change.

I also updated my video card driver to no avail.

What is your OS? If Win 8/8.1 u need to change compatibility for OBS to Windows 7. I had same problem with that and i fixed it.

I'm using 8.1. How do I change the compatibility mode?

Have reinstalled the Roxio software to no avail.

I have tried running in Windows 7 Compatibility mode with no change in the problem. Still hoping to find an actual solution. Anyone?

Here's an update. I was able to directly stream to Twitch.TV using the Roxio streaming feature. So, I am thinking that rules out the Roxio device. Still get the Black Purple preview in OBS and Xsplit though.
