One thing if you have time to check, in your BIOS, is the "Limit CPUID Maximum" setting enabled?

Any reason you turned it on? That's whats is responsible for the misidentification of your CPU capabilities. I'd strongly recommend you turn it off to avoid potential similar problems in other apps.

I don't really remember turning it on actually. Will give it a try and see how it goes. Thanks.

Update: Tested it and so far no crash. If anything changes I'll update again.

Still no idea why it was enabled. I probably did it at some point without thinking but couldn't tell you when that was.
