Bug Report Crashing as soon as I stream

Yesterday, I was streaming and it would crash and repeatedly try to reconnect. Eventually I just reset my stream key and this solved the problem for a little while. Later when it did so again, resetting my steam key did not help at all. Today I log on to stream and it crashes as soon as I start stream. This is the crash report I got. Hope this helps:

Could you please post the .dmp file and your regular OBS log file? The .dmp file can be uploaded at www.copy.com for example.

Also, what CPU and OS are you using?

Is this what you needed? Also, I use an intel I7 processor and run Windows 7 64 bit.

Could you upload the .dmp file too? It should be saved at C:\Users\Chadtest\AppData\Roaming\OBS\crashDumps\OBSCrashDump2013-07-12_3.dmp

You need to give us the link at copy.com to download it, you should have received a link after you uploaded.

I have built a modified version of libx264 that I think should fix this. This is for 32 bit OBS only. Put the file in your 32 bit OBS folder and give it a try. Note, OBS may ask you to update on startup - say no, or it will replace this modified file with the original.

Seems to be helping here. I've launched the 32 bit software and have tried both preview and streaming and have not have a crash since dropping in the new .dll file.

I was expecting it to crash, thanks for confirming. Looks like a bug in the x264 CPU detection code. Could you download CPU-z and post a screenshot of the first page with all your CPU info?

Also if you rum checkasm.exe inside a cmd prompt, is the last line before it crashes the AVX2 test?

For more real-time debugging, it would be helpful if you could join IRC where we are discussing this. Use http://webchat.freenode.net/ and join the channel #x264dev
