Question / Help Cpu usage high (when it didn't use to be)

I have a MSI GTX 1060 6GB, an I5-8400 and 16 gb ram, which i used to be able to record 1080p 60fps, but recently i had tyo redownload my obs and i lost my settings but i couldn't recover them. Now, no matter what low settings i use, my recordings are stuttering and low quality and my cpu usage is always 100%. Anyone know a fix?#

Hi,
have you tried starting OBS as administrator? There is a fix included in 24.0.3 which requires you to start OBS as administrator. Have you tried capping your ingame fps to 60/enabled vsync?

None of these fixes work, i tried it at 60fps and vsnc even though i'd rather have it at 144 since im using a 144hz monitor.

I'm having a similar issue. Even without going live, I'm getting 55-57% CPU usage. Was a fraction of this yesterday. I updated the obs.live as it asked me to this morning and that's literally the only thing I've changed.
