11:12:00: Loading up D3D10 on Intel(R) HD Graphics...

Error: Could not initialize DirectX 10 on Intel(R) HD Graphics. This error can happen for one of the following reasons:

1.) Your GPU is not supported (DirectX 10 is required - note that many integrated laptop GPUs do not support DX10)
2.) You're running Windows Vista without the "Platform Update"
3.) Your video card drivers are out of date

If you are using a laptop with NVIDIA Optimus or AMD Switchable Graphics, make sure OBS is set to run on the high performance GPU in your driver settings.

Your GPU is not supoported, as it is missing important features of DX10 that OBS needs. Sorry.

Eventually support will be added for these less powerful GPUs, but it won't be for a while.

Hi. I'm having the same problem. I'd like to take a stab at coding a solution. Have any other developers given thought to this but not had time to actually code it?

Well, go for it! OBS is open-source, so feel free and if you fix it, submit a version for review.
It's because OBS uses some hardware DX10 features for scaling/compositing/etc on the GPU though.
Also, OBS is being completely rewritten at current, so might not be worth the time investment. Your call there.

If this is a desktop computer, all you need to do is buy a video card.

Ferret: Are you talking about the same thing as the "OBS Redux" thread?

Jim: Unfortunately we are talking about a laptop with integrated graphics card (Acer Aspire 4810TZ). Updated drivers, DirectX 11 is installed, running Win7.

Thanks!
