Question / Help could my settings be better

my specs

gtx 780
sandybridge i7 3.4
motherboard-Z68A-D3-B3
1050 PSU

download speed 75mbps
upload speed 18mbps approx.

my OBS settings

encoderx264
max bitrate 3500
buffer size 3500 not sure if this is right
base resolution 1920-1080 downscale to 1.50(1280=720)
filter-bicubic sharper (16 samples)

my streams are very good quality but im not sure if im putting unnecessary strain on my system

the last session i had, i got a crash with my video card, it mentioned something about using 264, i think it was linked to OBS and crashed my game (i was streaming at the time)

do these settings look ok, can somebody check them for me, im thinking the bitrate may be a bit much...
 
Could probably lower the bitrate to around 2200 for 720p (or so I've seen/read) and since you're using an Nvidia GPU you could use the NVENC encoder if you can take a bit of a quality hit for the performance you gain
 
Your settings dont seem to be the problem, although it would be good to have a log/crashlog of the problems you encountered. You can also always keep an eye on CPU/Ram usage and your PC's temperatures.

currently using 2200, im gonna play around with it
what is the maximum bitrate i should , what are the dangers of using at very high bitrates

i changed it to lancsoz ,but my stream was pretty good without Lancsoz

Jackor you said my settings were not the problem, so can i use 3500 and not be a problem

if it happens again il get a crash log
 
Higher bitrates can make it harder for your viewers to watch the stream. They need a good connection to Twitch.tv for example to watch without buffering. A lower bitrate makes this "easier". Apart of that you are fine with 3500, but dont go higher. (Most) Services currently see 3500 as a good maximum and normally only recommend it for higher resolution and fast content streams.
