Question / Help Control the overlap of sources ?

Hello,

I try to manipulate two sources in a scene but I have some difficulties to have what i want.

To be as clear a possible I've made some pictures.

I have two sources:

and I want to overlap them like this :

But I the only things I can do is

I know that by cropping the front image it's possible to have what I want but source A and B are not fixed. Sometimes I have to move/resize them to follow a subject in the source, cropping is not a solution in this case.

In other words, I want to display a source only in a region of the scene without running over other sources outside this region.

Can OBS manage this ?

Mask source with filter (Image Mask/Blend is your choice - black is transparent, white is opaque area). The filters resized following the sources. And change the Bounding Box Type of the source to other than No bounds (for full table of dependencies look at the: OBS Studio Help Guide , General Filters section).

Thx for your reply but with this solution I cannot move/resize the source since the filter fit to it.

Actually I would like the filter to be applied on the source but this filter is fixed on the scene so I can move the source independently of its filter.

Why not just crop sources?

Because I have to adjust (zoom/resize) the source often and quickly.

I've made a quick video to show the issue.

First in this example I've made a simple layout with one transparent area where we can see the source behind. I can move this source to adjust its position.

In the second part of the video, I have a layout with two transparent areas and you can see the overlapping issue

I don't get it. Isn't this is solution you need? Step by step:

1. Make Scene 1
2. Make Scene 2
3. Make Scene 3
4. To Scene 1 add Source 1
5. To Scene 2 add Source 2
6. To Scene 3 add Scene 1 and Scene 2 (as sources)
7. Apply Image Mask/Blend filter to the Scene 1 (not to source!)
8. Apply another Image Mask/Blend filter to the Scene 2 (not to source!)
9. Switch to Studio Mode.
10. Make transition to Scene 3.
11. Now you can select Scene 1 and move your Source 1; or you can select Scene 2 and move your Source 2 - control the changes by output preview (Program window). The Mask should cover the (right) half of the Scene 1 and (left) half of the Scene 2 (in Scene 3 - resize the Scene 1 source and Scene 2 source, if you need, to new fixed size).
