So here's what I'm trying to do in a nutshell: I have an Avermedia LGP that I use to stream PS3/Xbox360 games on, but ideally I'd like to be able to turn off in-game music and play my own music on top of it. However, I can only get one source or the other to play through my speakers/headset at once, and if I use the Output Audio to Desktop option in OBS, it delays the sound of the console by 1-2 seconds, which is obviously no bueno.
Here's how I currently have my PS3 wired up:
Component in to AV In on the LGP
HDMI out from LGP to monitor (no speakers)
Audio out from PC into Audio In on LGP
Audio out on LGP into speakers
My front headphone jack on my PC is free if necessary. My questions are this:
1) Is it possible to get the computer to play both sources at once? RECentral says my Audio In setting is my PC, and my Component In setting is my console. I can toggle them to switch sources without issue.
2) Do the adjustments need to be internal (download a program/change a setting in a program somewhere), or do I need a piece or two of external hardware to get both audio sources into my speakers/headset with no delay/lag?
