Question / Help Computer freezing while recording with OBS

Hello everyone !

I'm currently trying to speedrun Beyond Oasis and this activity has led me to download and install OBS. For now, I'm only using it for Local Recording purpose (no interest in streaming) but I have met a great problem :

- A few minutes after launching both the local record and the game via Kega Fusion (Genesis emulator), my computer freezes and pretty much force me to restart manually (it even happens when I'm organizing/testing my OBS scene without anything launched). I have deactivated Aero (because I'm capturing my monitor) and I'm only meeting this problem when recording (I can play a lot of recent games on high with no problem), so it might not be a computer hardware problem (at least I hope) .

I'm green as grass when it comes to OBS or other recording device (its my first experience in the domain), so I'm deeply lost and I hope to find here help. I have set OBS's recording settings as low as I could but it did not change anything. Could it be that I don't have enough RAM ? Or did I configure OBS poorly (which would not surprise me in the least) ?

Here is my setup :

Intel(R) Core (TM) i7 CPU @2.67GHz (QuadCore Intel Core i7-920, 28000MHz)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (1Go)
RAM 4,00 Go
Windows 7 / 64Bits

And a few screens of how I set OBS :

Any help/indication would be greatly appreciated.

Your logfile indicate your x264 bitrate/buffer is set to 600 which is strange & way too low ! That could explain your freeze.
Also disable CBR & CBR padding for local recording

Have you tried to see if the same thing happens with the 32-bit version?
Actually I didn't, I will try this next time.

Ok, is there any specific value I shall put for the bitrate/buffer or anything higher will do ?

As always, for recording just use our High Quality Recording guide.
Bitrate 1000
Buffer 0
CBR off
Quality 10
If necessary you can lower the preset from veryfast to superfast or even ultrafast. I assume the game runs at 640x360?

I'll say that for a local recording in 640x360 (why do you record in such a low res ?)... 10000 should do it !
I thought those freezes were occurring because local recording in a higher quality was too greedy (the initial settings), so I have put them to the lowest I could to see if it would help. It sadly didn't.

It is a bit higher (960x720), but like I said my primary thought was trying to lower to the max the recording settings to see if it would change anything to the situation.

So I have made some tests :

Yesterday, I have set everything on High Quality, used the 32bits version of OBS and strangely it worked. At least I have recored for 40 straight minutes without encountering any freeze.
But today, when I retried recoding using the exact same settings, I got back to the old "freeze" routine (roughly after 2 or 3 minutes, I even froze while testing). At this point, I just don't know.

Here is my latest log :

Hmm, thats quite strange yea. One thing that comes to my mind would be too high system temperatures, you could monitor your cpu and gpu temperature while streaming.
The settings you used earlier and your current settings should be fine in general, they should not cause any problems.
