Question / Help Compilation of Vertex Shader failed, result 80004005

Just downloaded the .zip of OBS, unpacked, launched it, added my webcam as the source, hit Preview Stream and get this error. Some Googling shows that this may be related to not having DirectX installed or updated, but I do and it is updated.

Any other ideas? No clue where to go from here.

I presume pasting a link without reference to why it's important means you want me to read it and/or my answer is there, but I've read it and I see nothing related to my issue on that page. Do I need to look somewhere else? How would using the installer fix this? I still have no further insight into what my possible problem is.

You're missing DX components (which the installer would have picked up and corrected before you used the program). So go ahead and install them. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35&nowin10

Just subscribed to paste the link for Windows 10 users, that Microsoft has removed from their page:

The previous link that R1CH pasted is incompatible with Windows 10.

BTW, Windows 10 includes DirectX 12 by default, but it seems to be unrecognized by OBS.

Thx to reddit user crazyonerob without whom almost all Windows 10 users would be stuck.
