Hello gandyman, are you only streaming from a gaming console? You probably can set your x264 CPU preset to faster or fast and see how it run. I think twitch.tv recommended checking CBR and CBR padding. Also can you tell me your max upload speed? You can test by going to testmy.net and select the nearest server for your area and test upload.

Hi Jo-

Thanks for your response! I stream also PC games, depends on what day/mood :D I wasn't quite sure with the CBR and the settings dialogue says CBR is recommended, so I can switch it on to see if that fits. My upload is steady around 10mb according to speedtest.net- Using the x264 @veryfast with video quality 9 with a 2000 bitrate, hope the info helps! Thanks again!

No problem just trying to help. Encoding profile should be set on main. If you're not sure what twitch want then OBS can set it for you with the opitimize button at the bottom left corner of broadcast setting. For console games I usually set x264 CPU at faster or fast because it save some bandwidth and make the stream a little cleaner. CPU preset for PC really depends on which game. 2000 bitrate is pretty good spot for 720p but then again it depends on which games. Just keep testing the bitrate for whichever games that you're playing until you find that sweet spot. You can post your twitch so I can see how it is. Here some information that can help you. http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/1262922-open-broadcaster-software
