I've been attempting to get OBS to record the ancient games X-Wing and TIE fighter, which were recently re-released on GOG. I believe that GOG has them running in a custom-tweaked session of DOSbox, though I'm not sure. I was able to get OBS to record them using monitor capture set to the 640x480 region where the games display, but the recording is coming out with the colors completely screwed up. The colors display just fine on my screen, but the recording looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/GRupntc.png
Edit: This may have been somewhat premature. The menus and cutscenes look like the screwed-up example above, but the actual in-flight gameplay records normally. I don't know what the difference is. Still, it would be nice if stream viewers didn't have to stare at those horrifying colors and/or mostly blank screens while I'm in menus, so I would still love to know if anyone has any ideas.
The log file from a ~10s example recording is quoted here, if that helps.
