Chroma Key a Rainbow...?

Hi all,

I had a video capture input device. That when it lost signal used to drop to a blue screen. It was easy to color/chroma key that blue out so that an image beneath with a nice clean "signal lost" image would display.

I have upgraded/changed to a different device that now, when it loses signal, drops to a rainbow 'test card' instead of a simple blue screen.

Which I cannot simply color key out!

Anyone got a good idea for a workaround? How to do this? Some sort of pattern matching plugin maybe? Something that can hide the whole source based on detecting just one of the color stripes?

I'm at a total loss.. :( Any suggestions please?

Cheers,
C

If you pick the dark blue for the chroma key color and increase the similarity you'll be left with the yellow, green and red stripes. You can then put some text/images in what's left.

EDIT: May just need to stick to one of the colors depending on your source.

Interesting option, cheers. But I really want to key out the whole thing and display a full screen image.

Any other suggestions out there? Or is this a total impossibility?

Very interesting! Thank you! That looks like it may do the trick. Takes a bit of understanding to set up. I'll get stuck in.

It worked!!!!!

Ok, so that wasn't trivial to set up and get working. The plugin takes some understanding. But once you wrap your mind around it..... perfect!

Good call @Volfield !!
