Question / Help Choppy video with additional scene sources (Window capture)

Hi,

I've used OBS without problems for a long time but over the last week I've started having stuttering in the recordings (not in the game) even though I haven't changed any encoding/scene settings.

Example log: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/2b7e54e08dd55b092a28
note: I know the bitrate is quite high, but I'm only capturing locally.

Capturing just the game is perfectly smooth, however, the minute I add any Window capture sources (LiveSplit + NohBoard in my case, but it happens with any) the OBS video becomes noticeably choppy. With just 1 window capture the stuttering is barely noticeable, but once I add the second one it becomes pretty bad. CPU usage never goes above 60%.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I've always captured game + 2 windows before and never had this issue until recently (I've always had the warning about another hook being present too, but I'm not sure what else is hooking it).

Thanks.

Edit: Example video (need to watch it at 720p/60fps): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL-VRrMNoAE

Oh I think I understand what's causing this now, I have vsync disabled in the game meaning it's maxing out my GPU (93% before OBS)... so OBS has very little GPU resources to work with even though the CPU is only at ~60%.

If you have vsync off are you always going to end up with choppy output from OBS due to limited GPU resources? Is there any way around this (without turning on vsync / limiting framerate or buying new hardware)? Is there any way to give priority to OBS?
