OK I'm sure other people have this problem. I have a few profiles set up - different frame rates and bit rates etc. Most of the profiles are 720p but I do have one which is 1080p.
Now I also have a bunch of different scenes, depending on what my main source is. I mostly use HDMI capture from PC (1080p) or PS3 (1080p or 720p depending on game). I know OBS doesn't like the input source resolution changing while streaming so I've set up identical scenes with different resolutions on the HDMI capture input so when I start playing a PS3 game and it goes from 1080p (dashboard) to 720p (the game) I just switch scene and it's pretty seamless. I have the video settings for all the 720p profiles at 1280x720 with no downscaling.
Now the problem is when I select my 1080p profile, which obviously has the video settings at 1920x1080, all of the scenes are messed up because the video frame is 1.5x bigger. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be able way to create profile-specific scenes and there's no option to preserve scene size like there is to preserve source resolution for video capture devices.
Ideally two things need to happen here:
1) OBS should be able to handle the source input resolution changing and as long as the aspect ratio stays the same, do not alter the size of the source in the scene whatsoever
2) scenes themselves should be scalable so they can be used at different resolutions (with the same aspect ratio of course).
Is there anything that can be done about this or is it being looked at in the rewrite?
Thanks
