Question / Help Capturing window creates black bars

Hello,

I'm trying to capture a window. I do so with a window capture source. However, window capture does not capture the top of the window (that's where the the name of the program, icon, and close/minimize buttons are) and the margins, but only the contents. This means those spots are now replaced by black bars.

I know how to edit the aspect ratio of the canvas, but I don't know the aspect ratio of my window capture.

How do I fit my canvas to my source? Can OBS just display the source aspect ratio (it's not there when I click on properties) or can OBS just get a button like "fit canvas to source"??

Capturing the display is NOT an option, nor is stretching the source to fit the canvas (I want the canvas to fit the source, so other way around).

OS: windows 8.1 (x86)
OBS version: 22.0.2 (64bit)

I have added a screenshot of the situation. I have redacted some sensitive information with red (255,0,0)

It's a bit tedious to do, but you can get the exact size of a source by right-clicking the source->Transform->Edit Transform. The size is the 3rd row. Then you go to Settings->Video and manually enter these values into the canvas size in the 1234x457 format. You are not limited to the values of the dropdown list, you can enter arbitrary size values. Don't forget to adjust the output resolution accordingly.

Thank you! That works.
