Question / Help Capturing the el gato program

Hello i wish to record and stream with the el gato game capture HD but can't find any way to do it. OBS Isn't allowing me to capture the program of el gato only by means of screen regions. Is that the only way possible since i don't really have a big enough monitor
 
You should be able to add the Elgato as a Video Capture device, right? I'm pretty sure Elgato works with OBS natively.
 
Thank you for the help :D However i notice i can't record though anymore. Is there any way to actually capture the program so i can still record and stream at the same time? (The actual el gato program is terrible for streaming)
 
Well, you can check "Save to File" in broadcast settings and specify a filename (note that you must add .mp4 or .flv to the end of your chosen filename) and it will both stream and record locally.
