Capture card not showing up as a video capture device in OBS

Im trying to use my macbook as a secondary pc to process streams for my gaming pc and when i hook up the capture card it just doesnt appear as a source in obs. I tried it the other way around sending the video footage from the mac to my windows pc and the source showed up just fine but was just a black screen when selecting the source? How do i fix this???
 
The HD60S needs Elgato's Game Capture software installed on Mac even if you're not using it, because it includes the USB driver that registers the device as a video source. Without that driver macOS won't expose it to OBS at all. After installing, unplug the card, restart, plug back in, then check Video Capture Device in OBS. Also make sure System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera has OBS toggled on, Tahoe likes to quietly reset that one.
