Question / Help Can't stream DayZ SA

This is quiet strange because everything is normal with GeForce Shadowplay here.

The game is in early access so it is knd of expected.
 
DayZ is notoriously difficult on x264. It primarily seems to be the grass, but whatever it is, it always turns into a pixelated mess if any sort of high motion occurs.

Is there a setting I can change?
 
You can try streaming at a higher bit rate (if you have the spare bandwidth), or a lower x264 preset (if you have the spare CPU), but otherwise, no.
 
hi,

I have similar problems from yesterday ( last dayz update). I just got a black screen ( i did all stuff like changing setings and admin power up). Nothing helps. I can only capture the game in window mode. Any solutions ?
 
I'm having the same issue as well. I use to be able to stream DayZ fine, then I go to stream it and I get a blackscreen. Every other game works, just not Dayz.

I was having the same black screen but with audio problem for preview, streaming and recording while using DayZ.

This anti cheat setting fixed it perfectly. I was thinking it was a run as admin issue but no.

I wonder why this has not been a problem with Arma 2 or 3. DayZ SA must just be different enough in how they handle cheating.

What exactly does the setting do on the OBS with regard to the game? More out of curiosity than anything.
 
It is a problem with ArmA, too. I think they released a new update to BattleEye a few weeks ago that causes this.
 
hello, any one coming here because they are having issues with streaming... i found the main issue (for me and may not work for you) i have been on this forum so much trying to find ways around the black screen, I notiched an admin posted in this forum that for dayz (not tested for oters) you need to have "Anti-cheat compatibility hooking" ticked. i am a noobie with streaming but i found a way around the black screen and thought that this can help people in the future :D.
i would also like to say a hugh thank you to the OBS staff, you have been very helpful on the forum.

Tha same problem. Action can't see game. Black screen in OBS. I don't know how to fix it. Could somebody help me??
 
I just had to play in window mode to get the stream to work. I am preferring windowed mode for all game streamed. My preference.

For DayZ SA to be windowed

A) Using steam go to game library, right click DayZ, Properties, in general tab Set Launch Properties input > -window

B)When starting the game up the the main menu, press ALT and then ENTER.(Havent verified this. But it says it works on web. It doesnt workin IN GAME, must be just at menu)
