Question / Help Can't stream/Black screen

I've done everything people have said to do, looked at tutorials, messed with settings, but nothing has worked. All I want to do is livestream on picarto, but monitor capture doesn't work. I bought a new laptop a couple weeks back (lenovo y50). My older laptop works with OBS just fine.

The only thing that will work is Window capture, but that seems broken and doesn't capture the entire window of the program I use and I've tried messing with the ratio but again, it only shows a part of the program no matter what I mess with.

Game capture doesn't work, either. Just a black screen, even when I test it on actual games. So far, the only thing that remotely works is window capture.

you never said what program you are using to capture? nor did you post your logfile from the help menu of OBS.

That being said, your new laptop probably has multiple GPUs. an intel and an nvidia? either way, monitor capture wont work with switchable graphics so try game capture if you are using PS. it will work
 
Monitor capture can work btw, but that means you will have to sacrifice window capture and game capture.
 
Thank you. I actually use Manga Studio for streaming art. But I want to get into streaming games in the future. Since window capture somewhat works, I'll just have to live with that for now. 8(
