Question / Help Can't find the bottleneck of stream stability (LoL/twitch)

I play LoL at 1080p at 24 display. My system is well optimized and gpu 7730 gives me fps around 160-300 with 120 the lowest in teamfight at maxed out settings.

While I change settings in OBS the FPS DO NOT CHANGE NEARLY AT ALL OR IT"S -10 AT MOST. That being said I think the graphics are out of topic but I still can see the tearings and lags/jumps increase while I change settings (fps still huge).

My upload is around 30Mbit/s, anyway it's stable up to 5Mbit that is 100%.
My cpu is quite weak: Pentium G3420
What bothers me also is my HDD.. yeah, I don't have an SSD and does by any chance a HDD can lower any settings that I can set? I suspect it since the bitrate to be sent, must go through hdd right?

Another question, when OBS informs me about the coding overload. This information is important right? It's 100% the case that I must lower the settings to free up CPU??

It seems that FPS is putting more stress, unlike 1080p/720p option and here goes my question, as the "recommended" settings are easily found:
What are the settings to max out the quality of a stream:
1. 720p 30fps
2. 720p 60fps
3. 1080p 30fps
4. 1080p 60fps

does it goes like:
a1 1800 bitrate or more?
a2 2500 bitrate or maybe to max 720 I need 3000 or more?

Here's a link to the videos with increasing quality tho I forgot to write the settings under each..
Well you can notice when it lags, it's not the FPS. Also the huge freezes are my alt tabbings:
http://www.twitch.tv/velheibgnar/manager/past_broadcasts it's best to just watch them from the half part since I mostly alt tab in the beginning

I think I might not be able to stream at 1080p with this CPU?
Lowering the bitrate to hell isn't the best idea?
Is setting FPS at 40 or 50 an option?

Providing a log file would help most certainly, but considering your CPU, there is no chance of running 1080 on your stream, and most likely not 720 either. CPU load is mainly based on resolution and not bitrate, with using 3500 you might be able to decently compensate, but that can cause problems for people watching a stream.

u can forget stream 1080 with that cpu man, maybe not even 720, just try out some different settings and monitor your cpu usage all the time in task manager. Thats rule nr 1, always monitor temps, cpu usage., everything to have more control of your pc while gaming or streaming:;)

good luck

http://www.twitch.tv/velheibgnar/b/582507649 this game is 720p 30 fps :( I have no idea where tha lag comes from
Pings to Frankfurt are 24/24/0
Thanks for the info about the CPU. So when it comes to loads, should I avoid hitting 90% or maybe even lower loads?
Thing is it's not the constant lag, but it's a hard lag from time to time ;( that is not easy to set perfect settings as it seems to occur even on lower settings.

Where do I get a log file from 1 stream?

ha :D http://www.twitch.tv/velheibgnar/b/582651431
Not sure if it's watchable in this resolution but it's not much laggy.
It's 40fps 960x540 and it's with hight bitrate so I guess I can be sure it's not bitrate fault ;)
My cpu sucks confirmed.
Not sure if I can improve anything in the last video. Each option will take cpu power I guess, even the filter.

Hm does any of the game graphic options correlate with CPU?
AA
Uncapped
No v-sync
1080p ingame

Those uncapped+no v-sync are quite important to my no-input-etc-lag feel in-game.

since you havent posted a single log i will ask for a log right now.

but i can already tell you that your cpu is way too weak

since its only a dual core which is a huge bottleneck when it comes to streaming and gaming on the same machine

i mean EVERY game uses the cpu this means if theres a cpu spike into the 100% which the cpu probably runs at all the time then you are going to lag pretty bad even though the fps look kind of normal

Thanks all :) Topik is done.
That PC was not ment for streaming and I didn't know it's so much about the CPU :).
Looks like streams below 720p are watchable for some people too :P

yes 480p 25fps with ultrafast preset might probably be possible with that cpu and the quality with ~2k bitrate will still be okay for some viewers
