I use OBS for screen recording tutorial videos (not streaming). I am having trouble capturing my mic audio when I add a virtual cable to route it to other applications, such as Discord. At the same time, I want to be able to use my mic in Discord with the same filtered audio from OBS by routing it through a virtual cable (VB Cable).
I can set up the VB cable perfectly fine, but my problem is that when I set the VB Cable as the monitoring device in OBS, OBS won’t pick up my voice in the recordings anymore. I have to turn off the monitoring device every time I want to record in OBS again, which is really frustrating.
Is there a way I can set this up so I can use my mic for both OBS recordings and Discord, without constantly having to enable or disable the monitoring device?
If there is a way to do this, please explain this to me like I am a 5-year-old; I am really not great at this.
