Question / Help Can I stretch HD Live Gamer HD 4:3 to fill scene?

Hey guys I recently acquired an AVerMedia Live Gamer HD Lite anad so far it works fine.
However I play CS:GO at 1024x768 and therefore when I stream this reflects as 4:3 with black bars on either side of the stream. Is there a way I can stretch this to fill the entire scene window? I know I was able to do this when using Game Capture but I refuse to use Game Capture as it causes stuttering issues and I play competitively.

Any help is appreciated!

If you're on a single-PC setup, then the Live Gamer HD Lite will not help your performance. Game capture is the best capture method, so if you're having performance issues, you'll need to lower your encoding settings to get a second computer to do the encoding. Also, stretching a 4:3 image to 16:9 looks really really bad.

But if you really want to do it, you can hold Shift to ignore the aspect ratio as you resize.

Set the OBS window to 4:3 if your game is at 4:3. Stretching just so it can be 16:9 or 16:10 is wrong. Setting OBS to 16:9 or 16:10 and broadcasting black bars is also wrong.

I just last night streamed an old, old 4:3 aspect game and I just edited the size of the OBS capture window: http://www.twitch.tv/boildown/c/3601400 It looks how its supposed to look.

dodgepong is correct. If the Live Gamer HD is installed into the same machine that you are playing the game from, you will notice no difference in performance over simply using Game Capture, since your computer is still encoding the stream, with or without the Live Gamer HD.

Might I suggest using Intel quick sync if you have 2nd or 3rd gen i5/i7. This would give much better in game performance.

As for the 4:3 thing, Boildown is correct. Set OBS to a 4:3 resolution. Best thing to do is set it to the same resolution as the game. Stretching a 4:3 resolution to 16:9 is not the way to go, and will 100% of the time, look worse than simply leaving it as 4:3
