Question / Help Can I record while my stream disconnects?

Hi,
I typically stream various games that I play, but I may upload later on in better quality whatever I streamed. However, I'm having some technical problems lately with my connection, so my stream might get disconnected once or twice for a couple minutes. Is there any way to keep recording while attempting to reconnect? Also, is there any way that the local copy is kept at the quality that it's captured, rather than after applying compression, since that compression using Twitch might drop the quality alot at some points, like cutscenes.

I know I could use a second capturing program to have that, but I'd like to keep things clean and maybe lighter in performance this way. Also, if that's not possible, maybe allow for a second instance of OBS, so that I can run the local storage through that?

You can use a second instance of obs by putting -multi behind the target line in the shortcut, also -portable would be useful for it to save its different settings in the same folder instead of in %appdata%/obs.
Remember that it will more than double the processing power though since you are encoding the same material twice and for the local recording even in a higher quality.

About the first question, thats afaik coming up, i remember a commit for that + a start/stop recording DURING livestreaming.

Thanks for the reply, I will do that. If my graphics card is not burnened much more, I believe I have the cpu processing power to handle that, but we will see :)
