Hello guys I just downloaded OBS and I seem to be having some really crazy lag while streaming.

3108712900.png

That is my speedtest and here are my specs

Corsair Vengence 8GB Memory
2x EVGA GTX 690
EVGA GTX 670 (Phys-X)
Intel I7-3770k @ 4.8 Ghz
120GB intel SSD

I don't understand why it would lag so bad. When I stream my frames in LoL drop from 400 to like 38 and it's almost unplayable.

Can anyone please help :(?

Please post a logfile from a live streaming session. There are instructions on how to do this in a stickied thread at the top of this forum (and when you create a new topic, or use the 'post reply' button to post a reply).

You'll probably also want to run a 6MB test at http://www.testmy.net/upload as speedtest.net is worthless for livestreamers.

nice Pc bro ... didnt even know they support 5way sli now :^)

I have the 690's bridged together but the 670 is only connected for physx, so it's only 4 way technically :)

I'll get right on that.

That was from the 6MB test

and this was from the log scanner

Multiple video cards detected
If you are having problems and are using a laptop, see this thread for advice.

If you are using SLI or Crossfire, you may need to disable it for compatibility with OBS.

Slower preset in use
You have changed the default preset to fast. Using slower presets can result in late frames and high CPU usage / low FPS. You should only change the preset if you are sure you have the CPU power to spare.

Need a complete logfile from a live streaming session greater than about 5 minutes' length, not just an excerpt of an error.

I'm sorry if it's not :(

Yup, that's what we were looking for.
When you say 'lag', do you mean in-game ping? In-game framerate? Viewers complaining about stutter? OBS's frames-per-second count dropping?

Just matter-of-course modifications/considerations:
-Set your keyframe interval to 2 in the OBS options. This is required to comply with Twitch's standardization initiative.
-Max bitrate that the ingests can receive without issue is 3500. The max recommended for a non-partnered streamer is 2000. Going higher than this will result in viewers getting stutter. You may need to downscale below 1080p for image fidelity (2000 is generally enough for a decent-quality 720p@45fps stream). You can still go at 3500, but if you get viewer complaints, scaling it back will widen your potential audience considerably.

You've noted that you're running in a crossfire/SLI setup above; does the issue persist if you decouple the GPUs? OBS (and XSplit) have issues with SLI setups, and can react very strangely when it is in use.

My game feels like it is stuttering even though i'm >200 fps and when I view the stream it's still kinda pixely and stutters as well.

I changed all of the settings and I guess it looks a little better.

I don't know maybe I got spoiled with looking at top streamers or something.. maybe it isn't for me :p

Thanks for all the help.

Have you tried disabling the SLI? Again, it can cause significant issues when livestreaming.
As far as pixellation goes, that's a factor of bitrate and resolution. The top streamers can stream at high rates as they have transcoding available (as they're partnered streamers) so those without the bandwidth to devote to watching the stream can just go to a lower-resolution transcode. But still, you're never going to achieve a perfect 1:1 image quality... even if you had the upstream to swing it, the Twitch ingest servers would barf.

Again. Disable your SLI, and see if that helps with the low framerate and stuttering.

If it does help, consider picking up an internal capture card; yours is one of the VERY few situations where a capture card may be beneficial in a single-system setup (allowing you to maintain SLI on your gaming cards, and use the PhysX card for compositing/scaling/etc functions of OBS).
