Bug Report Bug: Rocksmith PC Causes Stream to Die

Basically I start my cast with the Experimental Game Capture and Rocksmith. As soon as I start the cast with Rocksmith PC on it's fine. When I alt-tab back into the game and try to go through the games menus it causes the streams bitrate to dive to 0 but act like it's still streaming. That Green Square stays on and it still shows the stream preview but the cast goes offline on twitch. This is the only game I've experienced this issue with so obviously I think it's the game. >_>

I'll test some more with game settings and such to see if I can get around it but this bug happens when I try to play the game fullscreen on a 2nd monitor and have the cast up on my 1st monitor.

hm, interesting. not entirely sure. might need some more information on specifically what causes it.

at first I thought it was Game Capture but I tried SCFH. did it as well. I think it might have something to do with the games sound since it requires a specific sound setup that apparently can't be captured by xsplit. not sure about OBS since I can't get it to cast Rocksmith at all :(

EDIT: I think I figured out the problem. It's the way Rocksmith's sound source works in Windows. It uses a specific sound source that it has to switch to when it plays game sound. When you switch default devices on Windows in the middle of the cast it kills the bitrate in OBS and shuts the cast off but OBS acts like its running with the bitrate at 0 and a green square.

I think its just game specific the way it's handing Rocksmith. I'm gonna mess with the games sound in the ini and see if I can find a work around.

Fixed the problem. You need to go into the game and turn off Audio Exclusivity to get the audio to stream through OBS and even XSplit. Win B-)

I've tried Audio Exclusivity Disabled, but OBS still doesn't pick up Rocksmith sounds. I'm using an Asus Xonar DX soundcard. I'm not sure what else to try. I've tried setting the speakers to different qualities (24 bit, 192000 HZ etc), but still no pickup. Any more ideas?

Try disabling "Allow applications to take exclusive access to this device" in your sound playback properties.

Doesn't work either, but thanks for reply. I've tried starting OBS and Rocksmith in different orders too, and it doesn't seem to make a difference either.

I've just installed FFSplit, and that is working. Weird how that works and OBS doesn't. I'd like to use OBS preferably, but may have to stick with FFSplit for Rocksmith.
