Broadcast has black screen sometimes and sometimes not

This is what I found with AI to get around the black screen problem. can you tell me if you think this method will work?

I'm running OBS on my Windows computer. win 11.
The chat and image are supposed to show up on my Chromebook. Sometimes it's working ok and sometimes not.
The chat is not dependent on the video image.

Since your webcam works inside OBS but other people cannot see it, OBS is currently hogging the camera feed, preventing other apps from accessing it. Webcams can generally only stream to one application at a time. [1, 2, 3]
To share your OBS screen, gameplay, or camera overlays with other people on Zoom, Discord, or Teams, you need to use the OBS Virtual Camera. [4]

1. Turn on the Virtual Camera

  • Find the controls: Look at the bottom-right panel in OBS Studio.
  • Click Start Virtual Camera: This creates a fake "webcam" output containing your exact OBS preview.
  • Keep OBS open: The virtual camera will stop working if you close the OBS software.

2. Change Settings in your Video App

  • Open your meeting app: Launch Discord, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet.
  • Go to video settings: Open the settings menu and look for the Camera dropdown list.
  • Select OBS Virtual Camera: Change the input from your physical webcam to OBS Virtual Camera. [5, 6, 7]

3. Check App Permissions

  • Windows Privacy: Open Settings > Privacy & security > Camera and ensure desktop app access is turned on.
  • macOS Permissions: Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera and check the box next to your meeting app. [8, 9, 10, 11, 12]

4. Restart the Apps

  • Close everything: Completely shut down your meeting application and OBS.
  • Launch OBS first: Always open OBS and start the virtual camera before opening your meeting app. [13]
To help narrow this down, let me know:

  • What app are you using to video chat (e.g., Discord, Zoom, a browser)? Chat is part of the app that shows the video.
  • Its from Chaturbate.
  • Are you trying to show just your face, or are you trying to stream gameplay/overlays?
  • Just face.
