Question / Help Blurry Cam Help!

Hey Support . I've been using obs for a while now and have loved it. But I've noticed 1 thing when I go back into my past broadcasts. My webcam is blurry :/ I stream Call of Duty: Ghosts (pc) and have the Microsoft Lifecam HD-3000, I have really good internet (like 20 mbps upload and 45 mbps download.. FIber internet op) and have my bitrate at maxed (3500) . a lot of the pixelization is coming from compression. basically, the colors and lighting coming from your game, and then your webcam is making it harder for the compression software to accurately know when and how to compress the images. I would recommend trying to get more lighting into your room when you stream, and bring your cam lighting more up to where the game lighting is for starters. also, I dont know the FPS your game vs your cam are running, but Id try to get them to be on par with one another, just to be on the safer side of things.

If I put my brightness to high on the webcam, the colors go outta wack. I'm thinking I should probably just buy a new webcam. Any suggestions ?

Hi Vexa, I wasnt talking about playing with the brightness on the webcam itself, I ment real lighting in the room you are sitting in. the room seemed a bit dim to my eyes, try getting a lamp or something in there to brighten the room itself up, if you can.

It does indeed appear to be compression-related. Probably a bit dark too which causes it to trigger more compression artifacts as well.
