Question / Help Blank screen

Hi. I have Windows 8 and new to OBS. My problem is when I press preview stream or start recording using windows capture, for example, all I see is the windows explorer upper bars and window tabs, but the middle is completely blank (white). Also, when I use monitor capture I get that infinite view (like a hall of mirrors) of the OBS page.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, can you post you PC specs up here? Also what are you trying to capture/stream. The infinite view is OBS trying to capture the screen.
OBS will display the screen captured which is your desktop, so you see OBS capturing your screen(on your desktop) with OBS capturing your screen and so on and so on.
 
I'm am just trying to get familiar with it. When I open explorer to a website, eg, yahoo.com say, I would expect to see that page when I hit the preview button and the start recording button. Just a newbie here but I thought it would be pretty straightforward.
