It's available on both places, and both result in no sound unfortunately. Thanks for keeping up with all these posts btw, I realise it's not an easy task, but it is greatly appreciated :)

Oh woops, it's the audio input source. It should say something like "Audio Input Capture".

Instead of doing that though, try seeing if the blackmagic is available as a 'Mic/Aux' audio device in audio settings
has anyone tried this ?

You can get Blackmagic audio by purchasing one of these: ***************1vyV42s

Plug in the white and red into the RCA audio outputs and the 3.5 end into the line-in port on your Mac. If you don't have one, I suggest that you get one of these to split: ***************1HO1T5R

If you need more help, here is a full tutorial I recently made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpfRL-80V0Q

Special thanks to bifuteki for helping me out with this!

I have, and the post just above yours is me answering to exactly that.

As for the above post using RCA->3.5mm and plugging that into line-in it will work, but you're going to add noise and lose audio quality that way since you're using your macs analog to digital converters instead of the expensive (and good ones) in the BM interface. As for why the BM audio doesn't work in OBS...who knows right now. I am convinced they'll get it working soon enough, though.

I use the RCA 3.5 cable and I lose no audio at all. It sounds just as good as hearing it normally through my speakers.

Any news on having the audio working using the HDMI -> BM intensity Shuttle (or Extreme) -> BlackSyphon -> OBS ?

Sounds like a bug to be fixed on OBS side right?

The next release of OBS is going to have a Black Magic plugin for adding Black Magic devices directly, so hopefully this will all be resolved with that.

Oh, this is such a great news!! Having the BM Intensity Extreme [audio + video] feed straight into OBS will be awesome!
Now I am very tempted to ask about the ETA for the next release?

Last night I downloaded the newest version of OBS, just to try it out, and was delighted to see "Blackmagic Device" as a new selection in the sources.
I tested it out with a stream last night and it works perfect. Audio and video look great.
I urge all who had problems before to try again with this new version.

yes I can confirm too... working like a charm now, audio and video using BM capture device. I take this opportunity to say thanks to the OBS developer(s) for their great job!!

Tried the latest OBS-MP Mac release today using the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle USB 3.0.
Audio through HDMI in drops after a few mins into the Livestream. Audio Bitrate was set at 96/ 128 Kbps and sampling rate set at 44.1 Khz. Any idea how to solve this?

P.S. - Tried a sampling rate of 22 Khz, and the audio stayed on. 44.1Khz and 48 Khz had an issue.

Pls help. Thanks in advance.

When I try to connect my Blackmagicdesign Intensity Shuttle w/thunderbolt I have a picture that is sometimes flickering (usually a lot in the beginning, then gets better after a while), slightly lagging and no audio. I'm use Composite-AV cables as I could not get a HDMI-splitter from my PS3 to work. I can see the audio level "bar" is working, showing there is audio but I'm unable to hear it. I've been toying around with the audio and video settings, not sure what is wrong. My video settings for the capture card is 720p 59.94fps. I got WavTap installed, Sunflower too only that has stopped working. Tried some of the tips in this thread without any luck so far. I use a single monitor (iMac late 2013 model). If I open up Media Express and record the video, playing it back then looks super sharp and has audio.

Any ideas?

Bumping this,

I'm doing the RCA to input for BM Thunderbolt audio, because the BM Device source doesn't do anything when I select it as a source.

Audio just doesn't come thru on its own, and when doing the RCA route, the audio cuts out when something else goes off on my computer (like twitch alerts).

Help!

hi guys, i'm using Elgato game capture HD to stream PS4 contents; u know that it don't work with OS X obs so i'm capturing screen on my macbook. I'm thinking to change capture card. This Blackmagic work correctly on OS X? I don't want issues anymore or some kind of crazy trick to stream all i need. i would stream correctly witch OBS without capturing so i could use my only monitor to manage other things about stream and not as screen capture.

From what I can see after some testing, using the Blackmagic Shuttle Thunderbolt AUDIO IN only works if there is video present. No video, no audio. Can anyone else confirm this limitation?
