Question / Help Black Screen

I am trying to record a game I play (FFXI) and I push start recording then log in to the game when i want to start recording i press my hot key f-12 the video saves to my videos folder but its all black what am I doing wrong?

Did you try what it says to do in the stickied post for people that are getting a black screen?

I do not have a Nivea laptop I have searched the fourm for an answer to this
