Hi there,

Im trying to set up obs to twitch.

I want to capture Diablo 3.

I followed a guide and have not been able to get the stream to work just a black screen, no mouse cursor etc.

Skipped frames detected

The video encoder is unable to encode your frames in realtime, causing skipped frames. This is often caused by running at too high of a resolution / FPS combination for your CPU. Try lowering your resolution and/or FPS. If you have changed the x264 preset, put it back to default (veryfast).

No sources found

You do not appear to have added any sources to your scenes which will result in black output from OBS. Please read the help file or use one of the getting started guides from the guides forum for help setting up OBS.

my FPS is 30. and my resolution is 1680X1050 a 6;10 ratio.


Im not sure what the second one means. I followed the guide to create a custom scene and game capture. I must be missing something obvious/

You must right click the "sources" box in the main window to add a source. That's what that second one means. Or perhaps that was an old log file?

are there certain setting you can see i missed, or maybe i didn't configure something correctly? I did the basic setup in the tutorial.

So you finally have a source added...can you post another log now that you've actually got it added? There may be yet another error that wasn't showing up before since you didn't have any sources added before.

Ah so you got it to work, great.

What do you mean by it lagging behind your gameplay? Streaming to Twitch has a natural delay of ~20-30 seconds between what you do and when it appears on stream, as it's not real-time.

when i watch twitch it looks like its jumping from one frame to the next, a stutter, a very slow stutter making it look like everythings in slow motion.

Well, now that the stream is "working", can you post a log from a time Twitch was stuttering? You have pretty weak hardware, so I'm guessing your settings are too high for your system.

im running on, off and low settings. the game itself runs fine, but i see the twitch feed looks like its stuttering and skipping but going forward. i personally have no lag, im just worried about the viewers.

It's chugging badly trying to download the data from your video card(s). The render pipeline is getting massively stalled:

CopyResource - [106%] [avg time: 102.686 ms]

That's pretty huge, a 100 millisecond stall each frame. On a more recent system, this would be under a millisecond. It can't handle the compositor (probably can't handle game capture, compositor, and the game all at the same time). I don't think there's anything you can do outside of get a more up to date video card. OBS scales up with GPU tremendously, but because it uses GPU to handle most things like color conversions, it also scales down pretty badly with older graphics processors that have fewer processing cores in them. OBS' benefits for every extra core the GPU has for graphics processing.
