Question / Help Black screen when using my video capture device

Hi

I have my wii connected to my computer with an EZCAP.TV 116 EzGAMER. The device works fine, I've tested it on xSplit and a software that came with the device called ArcSoft Showbiz. However, when I try to use the device on OBS, I just get a black screen. My webcam and the text function works perfectly fine on OBS, but the video capture won't show anything.

Have you tried the 32bit version of OBS?

Have you played with any of the custom video settings/resolutions/fps/output format in the capture source properties?

Well that's rather odd, it doesn't report any errors.

Yes, I agree, try the 32bit version first and see if that works. Sometimes these devices have bad/no 64bit drivers. If that fails, could you try using the "custom resolution" and such and see if using any of those settings cause it to work? Or perhaps a different color format? I just want to see if changing any of the options cause it to work or not.

Thanks for your effort. I've just tried the 32bit version, exactly the same problem. In addition, I've played around with the resolution and video settings, I still get no image at all. Even when I click 'edit scene', I can't see the red border anywhere like I can when the webcam is active. Could that be the issue?

..you are very observant. That could potentially be the issue, but that typically shouldn't happen. I may have to buy the device to see if I can replicate. Thank you for posting that model by the way.

I have the same model of capture card, and mine worked. Then, I messed with the resolution and got a red screen. Now, I can't get the device to show up at all. Help please?
