Question / Help black screen when recording in game, can't seem to fix it. need help.

this has happened to me a few times in the past, but i always seem to be able to fix it, but this time it just wont work at all.i heard that some games wont capture, but i don't know how to tell what games will and what games wont.

i am trying to capture LA Noire on my Steam account. i have an A8 Vision AMD processor (at least i think that one's my processor.) and a Quad Core and AMD Radeon graphics card. and it's Windows 7. it's an HP Pavilion dv6 laptop.

help would be extremely appreciated. this is way too frustrating...
 
Same problem. Thing is, sometimes it would work, others, it wouldn't, like if I tabbed out of the game and tried bringing it back up. It wouldn't even work with monitor capture. I got audio, but no video.

Testing out running it in windowed mode (la noire launcher>options>command "-windowed") and setting obs to capture the window. First couple tests worked, so we shall see.
