Question / Help Black screen trying to use Elgato

I just downloaded OBS today, checked to make sure elgato was up to date to.
On a pc, it has the option to use "Game Capture" but when i do the preview it only shows a black screen.
This is with Elgato open, and with Elgato closed i have no option to select anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, trying to set things up for a live stream later tonight!

You are supposed to add it as a Video capture device, i suggest you lookup some videos on youtube about obs and elgato.
 
so i found the obs folder and 32-bit version, but there is still no option for elgato.
what drivers would i need? ;S
 
i already have elgato installed, in the initial post i stated it was the latest version.
Elgato works, if there was a way to use a cam with elgato i wouldn't need OBS,
OBS just doesnt have any options for selecting Elgato except for in "game capture"
and when there is an option, in preview mode, its just a black screen.
its seems like it should be quite simple but there must be something wrong.
 
If it's not listed as a video capture device and you're using the 32-bit version of OBS then please reinstall the latest driver package that I linked above, reboot, and then see if it's listed correctly.
