Question / Help Black Screen Problem

Hi there,

I am having problems with OBS with just one game. I have 10 games installed on my computer and I can stream 9 of them a, but there's on game I can't stream. It just shows a black screen. (Others can stream this game though)

It's a first person shooter game called "GunZ: The Duel".

My graphicscard is: AMD HD 7800 Series

Wit those types of games, the problem is usually with extremely aggressive anti-cheat.

I really doubt it has anything to do with the anti-cheat system. Because many other people can stream the game.

You have a lot of this error in your log:

DoD3D9GPUHook: shareDevice->CreateTexture2D failed, result = 2147942487

So the hooking is failing. Are you running OBS as administrator? Also, do you have any other overlay programs running, like FRAPS?

If it is the anticheat interfering, then you could probably try to capture it by running the game in Windowed mode and use Window capture.

I still get a black screen and when I try to stream, but my FPS drops from 1500 to ±80.

I don't run Fraps.

OBS works fine on any other game though!

I would suggest to double check that you have no OnScreenDisplay software running. No GPU tweaking tool that allows you to Overclock or similar stuff. Nothing like Fraps/Dxtory/OverWolf/MSI/EVGA/Razer or AntiVirus that is very intrusive.
