Question / Help Black screen only on some games

hello there.

1st of all even though this is a help thread i would like to thanks OBS for their software. Until now i had no problems and after truing a lot of solutions i can say OBS is (from my experience) by far the lowest PC intensive streaming software with having most of the important features imbued and still being free. Props for that

second i would like to expose my problem (mind you iv streamed with OBS successfully for 6 months and never had problems)

I have a hp dv6 6190sp

I7-2630 QM
4 gigs ram
radeon HD6770M

(although since i have custom drivers i have my intel disabled and SINGLE CARD activated on BIOS while having also all power programs on laptop with my radeon enabled for maximum performance so im pretty sure the problem doesnt come from OBS detecting my other card - which would also frack up my other games and i never had issues- )

so far iv successfully streamed all games i tried which include but not limited to:

Dota2
League of legends
Warcraft 3
Eve online
Papers please
Tribes Ascend
etc etc

You listed games that do work...which games don't work?

damn trying to make a nice text and forgot that xD so far i have found problems with war thunder and dwarf fortress

I believe War Thunder has anti-hack measures that prevent hooking the game with game capture, so you'll have run the game in Windowed (or Borderless) mode and capture with Window capture.

Dwarf fortress runs in a console, and also can't be captured with Game Capture. You'll have to use Window capture for that too.

well to be honest i specificaly asked a fellow streamer of war thunder and he is able with standart obs to capture the game via game capture with fullscreen :S

Well, you can always try the hotkey method if it's not working with the window-selection method, but I feel like this isn't the first time I've heard of this problem with that game. A lot of free-to-play games have those kinds of restrictions.
