Howdy yall,
First of all OBS is Sweet and after all of the great reviews I have seen I decided to try it for myself. It works for many game I could otherwise not record, currently only using OBS and Shadowplay (Nvidia's own bugged out goofy Video Recording Software) ...
I have a few games that take a bit of troubleshooting to capture at all. At first, I heard OBS is wonky about Game Capture mode, and that many games can only be captured in Windowed mode on OBS, Game Capture in OBS while the Game itself is in windowed mode, etc etc... But a few will be able to capture after a bit of troubleshooting - yet the video will be only of a portion of the screen - Same resolution - yet the right and bottom edges are trimmed off, making the video look pretty crazy as you might imagine. I uploaded a video to youtube using a video like this, and after recording - the resolution was off, the recorded mp4 is stretched to fill in the gap - making subHD videos...
Xcom Enemy Unkown and now Savage Lands - a goofy pre alpha - is doing the same thing.

I have already tried the Stretch to Screen and the OBS set to use the Nvidia Card, Nvidia card is the Global setting.
Also, Monitor capture wont work, for desktop or games...
Running Win 8.1 with an Nvidia 860m...
Here is a log from that Savage lands game - which is still very early alpha, but keep in mind I have this issue with other games too, as well as the whole wonky game/window/whatever black screen mode...
Thanks for Any Help yall, I really Appreciate it!

If you're still actively using Shadowplay please turn it off before using OBS, it will interfere with the game capture hook. The same goes for any other program that hooks into the game.

Regarding your (presumably window capture) sources being cut off, it sounds like you need to disable DPI scaling. Open your OBS shortcut properties, go to the Compatibility tab, and check "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". Game capture shouldn't be affected by the problem when you get it to work.
