Question / Help Black Screen for Monitor, Window AND Game Capture after last update

Hey guys,

I've been streaming on OBS for about 6 months and everything worked just fine. After upgrading my PC from Win 7 to Win 10 the Game Capture began showing me the classic black screen with cursor issue. I updated my gfx driver for my AMD HD 6900M but it didn't help. Window and Monitor capture still worked. However, after 0.656 I suddenly cannot capture monitor either. In fact, the only visuals I can display are from my webcam or an image overlay.

I'm running this on an Alienware M17x R3 with an intelcard and an AMD with switchable graphics. I have tried to set OBS to run on the AMD card along with Dota 2 and it says it is running on that card. In my video settings the only option I get is the Intel card. I've tried reinstalling OBS, using multi platform, checking and unchecking all the boxes in each setting and even disabling my intel card but OBS never seems to detect the right one.

LIke I said, this was never an issue on Win 7 and mostly still worked on Win 10 initially.

Here's the log and also a screen shot of everything as its running currently during the log.

Thanks guys!

Make sure both 32 bit and 64bit are set to high performance. That being said, switchable graphics had an issue with windows 10 a few drivers ago. I dont recall of 15.11 fixed this or not, but I would uninstall drivers with DDU then reinstall them as normal. make sure windows does not auto update your drivers as well.

32 bit and 64 bit OBS? I'm not sure how to do this. Using the Catalyst Center it only shows the programs that are active and I always open the same OBS version. I will check to see if I can find the 32bit OBS as well.

Also should I just uninstall my AMD driver or are there more I need to address? When I reinstall the drivers should I just go with the most recent driver?

Well you could uninstall the driver with DDU (google that) then reinstall after your reboot. make sure you do it in safemode. Anyway,

One thing I would try as well, is OBS Multiplatform https://obsproject.com/download#mp It might work better or the same, but give it a go before you try and use DDU and reinstall the drivers from AMD's website.
