Question / Help Black screen for monitor capture and game capture (windows capture works)

I'm trying to stream a game, Robocraft, and I have looked at the thread for black screens, have adjusted my settings appropriately, and have also tried using the alternate method of using the monitor capture, as well as attempting windows capture. Window capture did not list out the game client that I wanted, monitor capture yields black screen for both monitors. Game capture yields a black screen as well. I'm using a laptop with an external monitor, with a nVidia graphics card. I have went into the nVidia control panel to set the graphics card to the appropriate one.

On a switchable graphics laptop you get to choose between [monitor capture] and [window and game capture], not all three at the same time. You may need to run OBS as admin, your log shows an access denied error when game capture tried to hook the game.

I have tried each capture type by itself (the only thing ticked is the one I'm testing). I ran OBS as admin, and I have tried restarting the game and OBS. Would I need to run the game as administrator (I'm launching through steam at the moment)?

Not if it doesn't run as administrator normally. Does game capture work on other games? Does this game have any anti-cheat system that could be blocking OBS? Are you running any other programs that hook into the game to display some type of overlay?
