Question / Help Black screen for full screen games, global source not workin

I have the usual black screen for full screen games problem. Before anyone suggests running games fullscreen windowed, this can cause a loss of quality for some games (eg halves the frame rate of League of Legends) or results in an immersion ruining blue border + task bar for most other games. So it's important to me to actually be able to run the game fullscreen. I have tried game capture as well as adding the game as a global source, and neither work. I can see the in-game cursor moving around but not the actual game. I've tried it with DayZ and Tomb Raider (which threw a hissy fit and crashed when I tried to preview the stream). Help?

This is due to the common laptop mismatching adapter issue - see viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5965

It sucks, but this is a common issue for laptops that every laptop user has to deal with - you need to set your adapter via the nvidia control panel to make OBS run on the nvidia (or just make all programs on the nvidia preferably)
