Question / Help Black screen and clicking noise when trying to stream.

Hello OBS community, I come here today on dire straits! Ive been trying to get my stream up and running for the past week off of various broadcasting programs, but all I get is this ridiculous black screen and clicking noise...

Im trying to cast my PS4 with my Elgato HD60, and I know for a fact everything is set up and connected right because it works in the Game Capture HD program that Elgato provides. However, that program seems to have other annoying issues when connecting to twitch so I would rather not use it.

Ive now downloaded the program 3 or 4 different times and have followed various guides on the internet but I still get the same result... If I livestream to twitch it goes live and its just black, you can hear this repeating clicking noise though that keeps echoing itself and gets worse the longer I stay live.

PLEASE someone help me this is really starting to frustrate me and no one else on the internet has been able to help with this so far...

Alright I dont know how or why but it did work for a second! I closed all processes/applications having to do with broadcasting software, reopened OBS, and pressed preview stream. For the first time my screen actually showed up in the program; I then hit start streaming and checked my Twitch. While it was working it was still making the clicking noise.. kind of like a mic being plugged in and out over and over again. Also an ad was playing on my computer and you could hear it repeating and echoing over and over again in the background.

Sad part was after clicking stop streaming and start streaming again it just went back to the black screen.. Havent got it to work again since even though I have all other processes closed just like before..

you have your audio setup twice. once within the elgato, and a second time through the desktop and mic audio devices.
