Question / Help Black Recording Screen? (One GPU)

Hey All,

So yesterday I was going to try recording some Payday 2, but I did it only to find my screen was completely black! I tried with a few other games such as Minecraft,Battlefield 3,etc and they were all black!

I do have sound however and have noticed that all the videos and forums on how to fix this are with people with multiple GPU's or are using a laptop. But I have only 1 GPU. Specs are the following,


CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9505 @ 2.83Ghz (Stock)

RAM: 6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 399MHz

Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 0AA0h (XU1 PROCESSOR)

GPU: 1023MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (EVGA)

Monitor: Sansung Syncmaster P2370 1080p

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

does your preview window show black or just the recording?

Post your logfile from the help menu. click upload current log and copy the link here.

For future reference, when you post your logfile please attempt to stream or record for at least 5 minutes then copy the link in the help menu then past that link here. this mainly helps me as I have a hard time viewing pastebin for some odd reason.

I think payday might need the anti-cheat hook. that's in the properties of the game capture (double click).

Some games might not work with anticheat hook and may only work with window capture and/or compatibility mode enabled.

Lastly, it is best practice to make a scene for each game you plan to capture then add in that one game (and what ever other sources you need) in each of those scenes. don't just change one game capture for each game.

I also sometimes need to toggle scenes a few times to get my source to show for the first time. After that, you shouldn't have to do that.

I tried the anticheat before and it didn't work, a scene for each game I'll try. Tried window capture andcompatabilty as well. Toggling scenes I've also done, will get back to you once I try the scenes.

Well the separate scene didn't work so I removed it, and when I came back a few hours later my game captures were working again!

I'll try recording for a few days to see if it starts going black again.
