Question / Help Black Image with PS3 after starting a game

Hello, i'm using OBS quite a while now and it's awesome. But now i have a problem where i can't find a way trough.
I'm using the Avermedia Live Gamer HD to record/stream with my PS3 or PS4. Between the consoles and my capture card is a hdmi splitter to get rid of the HDCP.

I'm using my capture card as a video device in OBS and with PS4 everything works very well, but when i'm playing with my ps3 i only get an image in the xmb menu. But when i start a game the picture in OBS gets black. In p.e. xSplit the capture card works without any problems.

any suggestions? :)
 
I think so. As far as i know the xmb menu is displayed in 1080p and 99% of the games are running with 720p
 
Does your splitter have lights on it to indicate when something is connected? I have a similar issue with my elgato sometimes. Its as if when it has to re-aquire a signal do to resolution change it just flubs the hdmi handshake. When that happens the light for the output I have the elgato connected to goes out.

I just disconnect my capture device from USB then reconnect it. I have at times had to do that a couple times, but it will eventually get signal again.
