Question / Help Black game capture preview on AOM

OBS works with other games I own, but currently I'm trying to stream Age of Mythology and can't seem to get it to come up on game capture.

I've looked through several posts on similar issues to this, but have not found one of just 1 game being an issue.

Age of Mythology 1 is a DirectX 8.1 game, Game Capture only supports OpenGl and DirectX 9+, you will not be able to use Game Capture for this game. My suggestion is to enable Aero, run the game in Windowed mode and use window capture instead.

Thank you for helping me out with that, enabling the aero. is that what's stopping the OBS from being displayed in the picture? I tried using OBS before with it and was getting too many windows poping up or floating into the stream shot.

With Aero on, window capture only grabs the window that you've selected, yes. Window capture is hardware accelerated with Aero on, while it isn't when Aero is off.
