Hi I'm new to streaming and am sure that theirs probably someone who has asked this already but ive looked everywhere.
i have a 15mbps upload speed and was wondering the max bit rate for audio and video that i would be able to stream without lag.
my computer specs are:
i7-3770s cpu
nividia gtx550 gpu
8gb ram
I'm connected with a rj-45 (Ethernet cable)
my download speed is 30mbps
my upload speed is 15mbps

Thanks in advanced

Twitch.tv caps you at 3500 kb/s so..that's about it my man..if you're partnered then you can increase that to 5000 or higher.

Correct good Sir!

Full settings for you depending on game should be as follows:

(30fps if you can manage, but your videocard is the bottleneck depending on the game.)

Actually even if you're partnered, the 3500kbps cap still applies. It isn't a partnered/non-partnered thing... the ingest servers just can't handle higher than 3500 without problems.

Recommended maximum for non-partnered streamers is actually 2000kbps, but it's not a Twitch thing... it's because a lot of viewers will have issues (stutter, lag, etc) when streaming much higher than that, without the transcodes available to partnered streamers.

3500kbps is MASSIVE, RIDICULOUS overkill for a 720p@30 stream. That's more than enough to run 1080p@30. Even 720@60 only needs around 2700kbps, and 720@30 looks *great* at 2000.
