Hello. I was trying to get some support. I bought the Coffee version and have been trying to import popular translations like NLT, NIV, NKJV into the plugin. I was using the gateway download on OpenLP. Those translations work perfectly on OpenLP but when I try to use the generator tool to import them into them into the plugin only the first chapter of genesis is able to work on those translations. When I look at the .js files generated by the generator they clearly don't have the text imported into those files. Any assistance is appreciated. This is on Mac btw.

Hi!

First, thank you very much for getting the Coffee Version! I really appreciate it.

Second, for OpenLP's Web Download Bibles, OpenLP actually downloads individual verses and passages on demand, which means that they are incomplete. The Generator program can only work with what OpenLP has already downloaded, which, in your case, was the first chapter of Genesis.

However, the good news is that I may be able to help with some of the Bible translations. I have sent you a private message.

As a side note, recently a growing number of people have contacted me after experiencing a similar case to yours with OpenLP's online web download Bibles. I do believe that the Bible Plugin website was unclear about the level of support for such Bibles. My apologies for that! I am updating the website to more clearly state that OpenLP's web download Bibles are not supported due to their incompleteness.

Thanks for your message.

Hi!

First, thanks for getting the Coffee Version! I appreciate it.

As for the problem you are having, there are a number of possible causes. In my experience so far, the two most common causes are (1) incorrect URLs and (2) the local file option being checked in the Bible browser source.

I'll go over the second cause here (the local file option being checked) because it's the most common reason and has the easiest solution of the lot. I'm not exactly sure if this applies to your case, but it's worth a shot. However, if this solution does not solve the problem, then I will need to contact you directly to get more information.

Basically, in recent versions of OBS Studio, the Local file option must be unchecked in order for the plugin to work. You can try doing the following.

1. Right-click your Bible browser source and click Properties.

2. Uncheck the Local file option (this is important). The Local file field will change to a URL starting with file://. Make sure it points to the same location from earlier and ends with index.html.

You can then restart OBS Studio and see if it fixes the problem. If this does not fix it, please let me know and I will send you a direct message.

Thanks for your support, and I hope this problem can be resolved soon.

Hi.
I tried everything, still not working. I will have to fall back on the free version again. It would be great if you could contact me as you said. Thanks.

I'm running OBS 30.2.3 on a M1 Max Macbook Pro with Sonoma 14.5 and I downloaded the free version to test the waters before purchasing. I set the browser and dock up accordingly and it's fully functional just as it should be when I have the scene in Preview. As soon as I transition it to program OBS crashes instantly every time. When I open it back up the browser is still set correctly but the dock is completely gone and I have to redo it. I've tried restarting my computer and I keep getting the same result. What am I missing here? I really want to be able to use this.

Hi!

What you have described is... very odd. This is the very first time I have heard of OBS crashing when using the Bible Plugin. We just tested the Bible Plugin on a MacBook Air M1 laptop and it works fine there. If anyone else has a similar problem, please let me know.

Unfortunately, I really don't know how to help you in this case. As far as OBS is concerned, the Bible Plugin is just a website. The fact that OBS crashes while using a website most likely indicates that there is a bug with OBS Studio itself. The most I can suggest is to try a different computer and see if the problem still persists. For obvious reasons, you definitely should avoid buying the Coffee Edition while this problem persists.

I will continue to check the Bible Plugin on Mac and look out for any more instances of this happening. That said, I'm sorry I could not be of more assistance.

Hello! I love this plugin! We use it for multiple services each week and have gotten great feedback from those who watch regularly online.

Do you have a step by step guide for adding the NLT? I’ve tried a bunch of different things and can’t seem to do it. Thanks in advance!

Hi!

Thanks for your kind words! It brings me great joy to hear that my plugin has been a blessing to your church. :)

The NLT has been the most requested Bible version by far. Unfortunately though, we do not have the NLT because it is a copyrighted Bible translation. It is also difficult to find. However, if you do have any other Bibles you would like to use, please send me a direct message. Otherwise, it is fairly easy to set up if you already have the Bible files. We have some additional information on this available on our website:

https://bibleplugin.firstfruitsstudio.com/faq/#finding-bibles

As a side note, I am currently working on a new plugin for OBS Studio. The idea is that it will be a complete church presentation solution for streaming. For that plugin, I am really hoping to work with Bible publishers like Tyndale (the publisher of the NLT) to officially license their Bibles and thus make their Bible translations available there. I can't guarantee anything, but I hope to have some good news on this topic in the future.

I hope this answers your question, and thank you again for your kind words and support.
