I think most people who'd be interested in this will more likely buy the pure 4k model @ 2160p
First of all, 4k is 8 million pixels, uqhd (3440x1440) is 5 million pixels, that means a lot more GPU horsepower is needed for pushing decent framerates wih a 4k monitor. My reasons were different though, as I wanted to buy a monitor which would make movie watching a great experience and with 21:9 you don't get black bars top and bottom with cinemascope and anamorphic lenses and you don't also get distracted by weird IPS glow as a result. As I said previously, the downside is poor support for 16:9 content like TV shows, anime etc.
edit: just another question, is the VCE limitation a hardware issue or a software issue?
